Things to do before you
leave -
- Leave your vacation or away
phone number if not known at the time of the key pickup, and any
additional information we should know with the sitter.
- Arrange for a neighbor to have
a copy of your key and be sure the sitter knows their name and phone
number in case of severe weather and the sitter can not make it to your
home.
- Leave a backup key inside the
house for the sitter if he/she does not have one.
- If the first visit is after
dark, provide an outdoor and indoor timer light or motion detector so
the sitter doesn't have to walk into a dark house. Especially helpful
during the winter months.
- Leave a radio playing. This
may help calm the pets and act as a crime deterrent.
- Be sure the sink is clean and
free of dishes.
- Empty your kitchen trash
container before leaving.
- Call your veterinarian's
office to inform them we will be caring for your pets.
- Take your sitter's phone
number and our office number with you in case you have a change in
plans.
- Call your sitter when you
return home or we will return for the next visit and you will be charged
for that visit.
- Be sure all your pets are
inside on the first visit and that all the doors and windows are locked.
- If you have an alarm system,
be sure your sitter has the company's phone number, the proper entry and
exit codes and, most importantly, the verbal password in case the alarm
is tripped in error or by malfunction.
- Have fun! And rest assured Pet
Pleasers, Inc. will take excellent care of your pets.
